Invest in Herefordshire will be attending the NMITE Military to Business Showcase 2026 on 18th June,
reinforcing the county’s commitment to strengthening links between local industry, the defence supply
chain and supporting service leavers.
Taking place at the New Model Institute for Technology and Engineering (NMITE) in Hereford, the
event will bring together employers, training providers and military personnel exploring careers beyond
service. The showcase will highlight the breadth of transferable skills within the armed forces and the
valuable contribution veterans can make across a wide range of sectors.
Representatives from Invest in Herefordshire will be available at the event for discussion with local
defence businesses and businesses within the supply chain, on the expansion opportunities available
within Herefordshire’s enterprise zone and enterprise parks.
Herefordshire has a high proportion of highly-skilled individuals transitioning from military careers
making the county an excellent location for businesses seeking a strong talent pool and meaning that
businesses across the county working in or supplying the defence sector can access the skills they
need to thrive.
Herefordshire also offers a competitive and supportive location for both investment and career
development with local initiatives from Herefordshire Growth Hub designed to connect businesses with
talent and support workforce development.
Invest in Herefordshire continues to champion inclusive economic growth. The event, which takes
place annually, provides a valuable platform to build relationships with service leavers, employers and
education providers demonstrating Herefordshire’s strong collaboration between industry, education
and the military community.
